Hello, welcome to my bio where I pretend it isn't me writing it, because I unfortunately can't talk about myself seriously in first person. Enjoy.

Florence Winter Hill is an award-winning Comedy Director  based in London. She likes to make things that are just really f*ckin funny, with a focus on character and performance. She sends emails sharing work with the caveat 'hope you laugh', because it really brings her so much joy. Even if they laughed in a bad way (at least they laughed).

She is passionate about making character-driven stories that are as cinematic as they are funny.   Her short films have made the official selection of BAFTA and Oscar-qualifying films festivals, including the award-winning The Gospel According To Gail which has screened at Palm Springs International Film Festival (with a nomination for BEST COMEDY award), London Short Film Festival, Flickers Rhode Island, amongst others.

Florence  has directed comedy  commercials for Philadelphia, Asda, Lemsip, and AXA, with agencies Leo Burnett, Ogilvy, and Havas.  Florence also wrote and directed the 'Safe Spaces' film for UN Women. She was part of the New Directors Showcase at Cannes Lions with Pulse Films in 2023, she was also nominated for the Young Director Award at Cannes Lions for The Gospel According To Gail.

Florence directed her first dark comedy play in London, Post Traumatic SLAY Disorder,  which had a short run at  The Kings Head in Islington, with a three-week transfer to  Seven Dials Playhouse in Covent Garden. She  has been  nominated for Best Director Award at the Offies.

Florence is currently writing her first comedy feature, and developing a comedy sketch show.
